since records began in 1959, was today measured at this station, the lowest November temperature (to -28.0 degrees on November 21, 1971). Here, however, proposes to complete the statistics: only one day later would be the value assigned to the December and went into the statistics in (in 50 years there have been 21x temperatures below -30 degrees). The lowest comparable value from the first days of December comes with -33.0 degrees from 12.02.1973 (source: MeteoSwiss).
Well, record or not - it was very cold, but beautiful, at least in the morning. In addition to the large amount of snow there today in some other phenomena of nature to admire:

This optical phenomenon is caused by small water droplets in mid-level clouds. Physically, it is a Beugungsophänomen .
