It will not take long before the term is heard again in any media or read (no later than next Monday ...). Cited lot but not much research on that is the reason Indian summer now assigned almost every autumn high-pressure phase.
Because the Indian summer but a climatological singularity (weather rule) is, he would have each held about the same time.
Stephan Bader, a climatologist at MeteoSwiss, the whole has taken a closer look two years ago. The result: it exists, the Indian summer. In the current climate, but instead he finds in October:

Between 13 and 28 October is to find a significant accumulation of good weather, but this phase is of 19 to 24 October is often less sunny weather interrupted. The 22nd October, however, stands out as the most common Schönwettertag in between. Thus, there are therefore two phases of Indian summer weather: from 13 to 18 October and on 25 to 28 October.
Also in September there are 15 often a phase with good weather - it also fits well with the current development. This good weather is much less pronounced than those in October.
